Three Reasons Why Uber Is Destroying The Taxi Market

If you haven’t heard the news yet, then you need to leave that rock you call home. Uber is destroying the taxi market. City after city falls to Uber as consumers turn their sights on the modern day taxi service, here’s why.

  1. Convenience

No matter what, Uber will crush taxi drivers in the convenience sector. After all, ordering one is as simple as pushing request on your phone. After that, the app takes care of tracking, billing, tipping and customer service.

  1. Cleanliness

If you’ve ever ridden in a taxi, then you probably still have trouble getting rid of that wet-leather-covered-up-by-cheap-air-freshener smell. Not to mention, the seats always seem moist in the back of a cab. Well not in an Uber. The app requires their drivers to use a 2002 or newer vehicle. Combine that with in-app reviews and ratings. Almost every car I’ve ridden in has been spotless.

  1. Marketing

At the end of the day, Uber kills it with marketing. You can take a helicopter from NYC to the Hampton’s or have your day pleasantly started with Uber breakfast. I’ve never even seen a taxi company post a PSA.
